Meet Katherine
Hi, I’m Katherine.
I’m a Career Mentor and Career Pathways Specialist, supporting young people with disabilities to build confidence, develop life skills, and work towards a future that feels positive and achievable for them.
I come from a background in education and have over 20 years’ experience working with children and young people of all abilities, from Foundation through to Year 12. I’ve taught in mainstream schools across Australia and Southeast Asia, and more recently worked in specialist settings supporting Autistic students. Over the years, I’ve developed a strong understanding of the unique strengths and needs of neurodiverse young people.
After many years as a teacher, I shifted into career mentoring because I wanted to support young adults during the transition into work and adult life. In my role, I focus on helping participants recognise their strengths, build confidence, and access opportunities they deserve — using a person-centred, strengths-based approach.
Outside of work, I love spending time in nature, going for long walks in the forest, tending to my plants and cacti, and giving plenty of pats to my labrador.
